Spain & Portugal

Seville to Santiago and beyond

May 2007
1,500 km
3 weeks

In May 2007 we cycled from Seville to Finisterre, mainly in Spain with a few days in north-eastern Portugal. We roughly followed the pilgrims’ route known as the Via de la Plata. Our nephew, Daniel, was with us as far as Santiago de Compostela, but we had more time than he did, and so continued west to Finisterre and south through Galicia for a few days. We then took a bus to Salamanca and pedalled back to Madrid via Segovia and the Navacerrada pass over the Sierra de Guadarrama. Our distance to Santiago was over 1150km and our total distance was over 1500km

See sets 2-7 of our Flickr collection, Daniel has recorded his memories of the trip in his blog – Moose Wanderings .
