Packing List: Bangkok to Paris

Post Trip Note:

We found this list to be sensible. We are very weight conscious because of our grey hairs; we find keeping the weight down makes cycling more enjoyable. We carried base weights of approximately 18kg each, and additional items such as food, water, gasoline, maps, and books increased this to varying degrees.
We received supply parcels (UPS) at three points on our journey, including parts for complete drive-train replacements in Georgia. Receiving these required making hotel reservations, and arranging delivery to the hotels. We also mailed home small parcels of annotated maps, books, purchased souvenirs, and a few surplus items about six times. We successfully used UPS from Uzbekistan, and ordinary post from Laos, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Greece, and Austria. We also often gave no-longer-needed maps and books to travellers headed in the opposite direction.

We have taken photos of some of the equipment we used and added some notes on each photograph.
