Southward from Oslo to Hvaler, Norway, and across to Strömstad, Sweden by passenger ferry. South along Sweden’s west coast to Helsingborg, Sweden, and ferry to Helgingør, Denmark. South to Copenhagen and across Øresund by train to Lund. Return to Copenhagen by train, and cycle south through Denmark to Rødby. Cross by ferry to Fehmarn, Germany. South to Hamburg, entering and exiting city by transit/train. South to Frankfurt via Harz National Park. Upstream along Rhine. Visits in Alsace, France and Breisach, Germany. West to Besançon and Burgundy. Down Saône and Rhone to south of Lyon. West across Massif Central to join Canal du Midi near Toulouse. Overland return by train and boat – via England – to Oslo.
