During our first three days in Turkey we have been in the mountains. The flowers beside the road have been spectacular, and each night we have camped in a meadow of wild flowers. I have been reminded of my mother saying that – when she was young – the verges of the British roads were alive with colour, but – as she grew older – this was no longer the case. She worried we had lost more than beauty in our use of modern agriculture. In her memory, I have put up a Flickr set of roadside flowers along with a picture of each campsite.
